At World City Center, it is our goal to encourage a love of learning in children by thoughtfully designing and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children to ask questions, to ponder, to experiment, to dissect and to explore their world on a daily basis. We utilize constructivist theory and best practices from progressive curriculums like Reggio Emilia, Montessori and Waldorf, to inform our curriculum decisions and to guide our practice.
We believe that the purpose of education is to prepare one for their best possible life. Children need to be encouraged and empowered through education that is purposeful and meaningful to them. They need to be motivated by education to want to learn, to ask questions and to use critical skills to problem solve. Our goals for children are, first and foremost, that they are whole and happy through positive social emotional development. Secondly, we want them to experience developmentally appropriate learning and social experiences that provide a beneficial foundation for future learning. We believe that children learn through play and by making their own meaning of their learning, by doing and experiencing.
